Welcome to Moose Head Ranch

Moose Head Ranch is unique. Unlike other guest ranches Moose Head Ranch is privately owned, family operated and completely surrounded by Grand Teton National Park, providing our guests with a panoramic vista of the Teton Range. Imagine riding with your family and seeing elk, bison, mule deer and antelope up close. Picture meadows of alpine flowers such as lupine and fireweed as you gaze down at the legendary Snake River.

At the end of each ride relax on your cabin porch or the Lodge deck with the ever changing vista of the majestic Tetons in the distance, with no blaring horns or city noises, just the sound of the babbling brook and the laughter of your children as they play with new found friends.

The Lodge

Welcome to Moose Head Ranch’s spacious lodge. Enjoy everything from some early morning coffee in front of a roaring fire to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Put your feet up and relax on our deck after a long day of adventure.

Cabins

Moose Head accommodates approximately 44 guests in comfortable and well appointed cabins that are scattered amongst the cottonwoods and pines. Many overlook our stocked trout ponds. Most have wood burning stoves and all are equipped with small refrigerators and coffee machines, and ice is delivered daily.

More

Grand Teton National Park surrounds the Ranch, offering miles of scenic drives, hiking trails and photographic opportunities. Yellowstone National Park, 32 miles north of Moose Head, is a wonderland of geysers, wildlife, waterfalls and lakes. We are happy to suggest a guide for you to make the most of your time there.

Activities

Horseback Riding

Saddle up and go for a morning, afternoon or an all day ride. Moose Head’s minimum riding age is 6. Families and couples ride in small groups always accompanied by a wrangler.

Fish & Hike

Don’t feel like riding? Try fly-fishing on one of our well stocked ponds. We have the equipment and would love to teach you if you have the desire to learn. The more experienced angler may want to fish the Snake River, which is easily accessible from the Ranch.

Take a light hike down to the river, or simply relax and enjoy the splendor of the Grand Tetons from your porch. Challenge your kids to a game of horseshoes or croquet. Play a friendly game of volleyball. After dinner, go for a drive to look for elusive moose that come out at dusk. Join other guests and the crew for a friendly game of softball. Watch the sun set over the Tetons from your cabin deck or porch.

Wildlife

Moose Head Ranch is rich with diverse wildlife. Hikers and riders often see bison, eagles, elk, and occasionally, black bears. You are welcome to photograph any wildlife you see from safe distances.

Do not attempt to approach or feed wildlife as this risks both your safety and theirs.

Weddings

Moose Head Ranch is a breath-taking Jackson Hole wedding location and special event venue site available during our off season (Prior to 6/1 and after 8/13). We’re fortunate to have a direct unobstructed views of the Grand Teton mountain range, and we hope you will consider us for your event – we will do all we can to make it memorable!
